How is going?

As other students, I had an experience in a foreign country during my fourth year of high school.

The topic of studying in a foreign country is often discussed for what is the right decision, if it is better to do it during high school or during college. Many people are scared about it, and their decisions are based on fake fairs.

Starting from my personal experience, I had a wonderful trip and did a lot of things, such as going to visit magnificent landscapes and learning part of a different culture and made new friends who come from all over the world and with whom I shared other exceptional experiences.

I had two experiences and in both I found an excellent family who made me feel part of them. Every time I felt more comfortable with the language and felt I was growing up as a person.

The first time I went to Dublin, in Ireland, I was anxious and when the family asked me what I wanted for dinner nothing came up on my mind except for the sentence: “Everything is fine” and I had to eat a terrible soup! However, at the end of the two weeks that I had been there I was fluent enough to tell them that I hated the soup.

The second time I went to Edinburgh, in Scotland, and that was totally different, I knew the language better and I was completely alone. When I arrived, I had to take the taxi to go to my host family and, I did it almost without problems. Knowing better the language allowed me to have friends with whom I am still in contact. I practice my pronunciation and I learned some typical expressions.

The second time I was older, and I used to have different type of experience and I had the possibility to travel more, also inside Scotland, and that was amazing.

On the other hand, I also know that there are a lot of people who had terrible experience and found themselves in difficult situations.

In addition, some of them come back because they couldn’t interact with others for the situation.

Everything could go wrong it’s up to you to get the best of it.

To sum up, in every experience there are some positive and some negative aspects and you can’t know which is the right decision unless you take it and you see it for yourself.
